This Vital First Aid Full Paediatric First Aid Course meets ALL OFSTED/EYFS guidelines and requirements as of March 2017 and is suitable for anyone working with children from birth to 8 years, most popular with those working within Early Years Settings.

Additionally the programme meets with the recommendations of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 issued by the Health & Safety Executive for the ‘Appointed Person’.

Our Vital First Aid Full Paediatric First Aid Course includes resuscitation skills for Adults, Infants and Children. Candidates will receive training in a range of first aid skills including:

Course content:

• To be able to assess an emergency situation and prioritise what action to take

• Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and breathing normally

• Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally

• Help a baby or child who is having a seizure

• Help a baby or child who is choking

• Help a baby or child who is bleeding

• Help a baby or child who is suffering from shock

• Recognition of common childhood complaints and illnesses and appropriate care.

• Developing an effective emergency plan for when emergencies occur.

• The keeping of simple records following an accident in the workplace/care setting.

Paediatric and Early Years First Aid follows a syllabus and utilises the following training methods:

• Multimedia Presentations to convey essential information.

• Hands on practice in small groups monitored by the instructor.

• Continual positive encouragement from approved Instructors with a normal maximum group size of 12.

• An excellent, full colour student manual to use during the course and keep as a future reference on first aid.

• Up-to-date information presented in a relaxed learning environment.

• The opportunity to complete a course evaluation and register online with the WorkSafe website to activate automatic qualification expiry reminders and signup for industry related updates.

Course duration:  2 day (12 hours)

Certificate valid for: 3 years

​

Succesful candidates will be awarded a qualification in Full Paediatric First Aid, valid for 3 years and certificated by WorkSafe Training Systems.

​

Please Note: The HSE recommend that all workplace first aiders receive annual refresher training in first aid techniques whilst holding this qualification.
