This Vital First Aid Training Course covers The Emergency First Aid at Work programme which meets the requirements of the Health and Safety Executive for first aiders.

 

The course will also cover the content detailed below, injuries you would likely to see in a Mass Casualty Terrorist attack.

Mass Casualty Trauma Course:

 

Having worked in Central London for the emergency services for 14 years I have first hand experience of dealing with terrorist incidents. I have witnessed people help each other and have been amazed by the stories of peoples lives being saved or injuries reduced by the quick thinking bystanders who have administered first aid.

 

There have been recent calls from the Government for everyone to be First Aid trained in the event of being involved in such a situation. The article can be found on our Twitter feed. 

 

This course is ideal for companies based at or near iconic locations who want to prepare their staff for what they may face should they be embroiled in a mass casualty terror attack. Our aim is not to scare but rather empower participants so they are prepared and capable of administering life saving first aid to themselves, their colleagues and other injured parties should the need arise.

 

This 7 hour course is ideal as part of a team building day and can be held at your place of work for convenience and to minimise disruption to your business.

 

This course involves practical demonstrations by qualified and experienced instructors and the opportunity to take part in a variety of practical scenarios designed to build confidence and expose participants to the types of incidents they may be faced with.

We are constantly developing this course to meet the ever changing threat we are faced with.

 

This course is also suitable for individuals who commute to and from Central London.

 

Specialist First Aid equipment is available to purchase on the day.

Course Content:

​

The day will cover all the content in our HSE approved Emergency First Aid at Work Course, but in addition the following topics will be included:

 

• Discussions about what to do in a Terrorist Incident in line with current Government Guidelines

• Triage

• Catastrophic bleeds

• Blast injuries

• Penetrating Chest Wounds

• Serious Burns

• Chemical Burns

• Crush injuries

Course duration: 1 day (7 hours)

​

Certificate valid for: 3 years

​

Succesful candidates will be awarded a qualification in Emergency First Aid at Work, valid for 3 years and certificated by WorkSafe Training Systems.

Please Note: The HSE recommend that all workplace first aiders receive annual refresher training in first aid techniques whilst holding this qualification.
