Emergency Paediatric First Aid

This Vital First Aid Emergency Paediatric First Aid Course Parents, Grandparents, Carers and those working within a Team in an Early Years setting.

Those working alone in Early Years must complete the Full Paediatric First Aid Course.
​
This course can be upgraded to the Full Paediatric First Aid if required and all learners will receive a very comprehensive paediatric first aid manual which covers the full training syllabus.
​
This is the new Emergency Paediatric Full First Aid Course and covers 7 areas of content.

Course content:

To be able to assess an emergency situation and prioritise what action to take
-
Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and breathing normally
-
Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally
-
Help a baby or child who is having a seizure
-
Help a baby or child who is choking
-
Help a baby or child who is bleeding
-
Help a baby or child who is suffering from shock caused by severe blood loss (hypovolemic shock)

Course duration: 1 day (6 hours)
​
Certificate valid for: 3 years
​
Succesful candidates will be awarded a qualification in Emergency Paediatric First Aid, valid for 3 years and certificated by WorkSafe Training Systems.
​
Please Note: The HSE recommend that all workplace first aiders receive annual refresher training in first aid techniques whilst holding this qualification.
